Hello, I have had a cough for 2 weeks now. Its not a cold , just a really bad constant cough with pain in my chest and on the side of where my kidney is located. I have also been smelling a heavy smoky feeling even though there isnt any. What is wrong with me?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are having cough since two week and because of excess coughing there might be abdominal sideways pain..

You are having bronchitis like upper respiratory tract infection leading cough and chest pain

I need to know following details..
-Fever present??
-cough with expectorantion or dry cough??
-which investigation done??
-any history of allergy??

This could be allergic inflammation / viral influenza / chronic non specific bronchitis

Your work up done as follow
-above history asked
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray
-CBC
-Throat swab and culture for influenza

According to cause found specific treatment given

If it seems allergic cough after rule out other cause, antihistaminic drug can be prescribed

Take care

Hope your concern solved
