What Causes Cough, Body Chills And Swollen Tongue In A Diabetic?

Last Sunday I started sneezing, thinking it was allergies. By Wednesday felt like things were getting better that evening started chilling, lasted a couple hours then felt better eye started itching. Thursday morning eye was swollen and purple. Felt better swelling went down, started coughing, that evening started chilling, also body hurts, skin feels sore. Friday felt better till evening started chilling. Saturday swollen tongue taking Benadryl, not as much coughing so far no chills, tongue still swollen but not getting any worse, body still aches. HELP!! Also I am diabetic.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of sneezing, chills, itching in eye and swelling along with swollen tongue seems to be consistent with allergic reaction to some known or unknown allergen..
You should continue taking benadryl and consult an Allergist to get evaluated for the exact cause of allergic reaction and treatment can be planned according to the cause..
You can also be advised to get allergic tests done to rule out the exact cause of allergic reaction and preventing exposure to the allergen will prevent allergic symptoms..
You can also be given Immunotherapy to reduce the severity and frequency of allergic attack..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
