What Causes Cough And Congestion Symptoms?

I have 3 yr. old with a bad cough, stuffy nose, congestion, and fever. All she wants to do is sleep. I took her to her pediatrician, she her some medicine, and said she would basically just have to work it out of her. That was Tuesday, the medicine is not working, she is still the same way. I'm getting liquids into her but she won't eat, but a bite here and there. What can I do for her?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
steam inhalation and local instillation of saline nasal drops will improve her condition.
You may give some cough syrup containing Dextromethorphan and cetrizine.
Once the cold is controlled she will eat normally.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
