What Causes Contact Dermatitis While On Antihistamines?

Hi. I have been taking anti histamine drug for 4mos now due to my skin rashes which the doctor diagnosed as contact dermatitis. But i do wonder why i have been taking the medicine that long yet still my rashes havent gone yet. Is it an early sign of hiv? Pls help me. I am so much worried about this.

Antihistamines are drugs that inhibit the action of histamine in the body by blocking the receptors of histamine. There are two types of histamine receptors H1 and H2. When H1 receptors are stimulated by histamine it may produce allergic reactions such as itching, hay fever and rash or hives.
An antihistamine tablet typically starts to work within 30 minutes after being taken. The peak of effectiveness is typically within 1-2 hours after being taken. Antihistamines are generally more effective when taken constantly rather than intermittently.
