Is it normal to have constipation after an endoscopy? Did go and it was fairly normal, but there was some white and green mucous surrounding the stool. Stool was normal color. Just haven t gone enough to relieve my belly pain. Once I did go some it helped relieve most of the pain. Just wondering if constipation if a side effect of endoscopy, and if the mucous is common. Don t normally have that. They took two biopsies -- one esophogas and the other in the small bowel. All looked fine, but biopsies just to make sure. They did do an esophogeal dilation due to benign narrowing of esophogas that has created problems with swallowing and feeling of fullness. After the endoscopy the dilation has seemed to help some.
