What Causes Constant Smoke Smell In Nasal Passage And Mouth?
Yes. The past couple of days I have been smelling cigarette smoke and also tasting it. We are non smokers. No one who visits smokes. Could this be a system of something? Also my sinuses are bothering me and I am taking Equaline pressure & pain PE plus mucus. Any ideas?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have constant smoke smell in nasal passage and mouth which seems to be coming from infection in your sinuses ,which is responsible for this. It could be due to hallucination of olfactory senses leading to Phantosmia. Need not to worry.
I would suggest you to :
- Do warm salt water gargles 2-3 times a day .
- Take steam twice a day .
- Give hon compresses on face .
- Maintain proper oral hygiene and quit smoking and drinking.
Consult ENT specialist (ear, nose, throat) for proper examination and rule out causes like gingivitis or any dental injury . Doctor may order X-ray , blood test or CT scan to confirm the diagnosis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
