What Causes Constant Ringing In Ears With A History Of Injury?

hi there when i was young i had my head hit by a household item and it caused a dent..when i was hit i remember my ears immediately started ringing and it has not stopped ringing. i am now 31 and this incident occured whn i was maybe 12 years old. i didnt go see a doctor because i ddnt want to get in trouble because it was a case of abuse at the time. i still have ringing in my ears and the dent is in the middle of my head

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have constant ringing in ears with a history of injury . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to condition known as concussion or ear injury as you have histroy of injury . I would suggest you to consult neurologist and well as ENT specialist . Doctor may do vision, balance , memory , CT scan or X-rays to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may recommend you to take proper rest , prescribe analgesic , anti emetic drug and sometimes surgery can also be recommended in severe cases .In case of large perforation surgical repair or Tympanoplasty can be advised. For now stay calm and take proper rest . Sometimes yoga and meditation can also be helpful.
