What Causes Constant Ringing In Ears While On Debrox?

Woke up this morning with hearing sound like somebody is talk through a plastic tube. I am deaf in my right ear. I am talking about my remaining good ear. Went into the doctor and had ear wax removed, but the symptoms remain. Right now we are going to wait a week to see if it will resolve itself. Last night I took two dossages of Debrox consecutively and gently rinsed. Doctor thinks it may be related to the excessive Debrox dosage.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of constant ringing in ears while on Debrox which could be because of eardrum injury, ear fluid and ear wax accumulation and it could be due to persistence of upper respiratory tract infection that has spread to ear through Eustachian tube. Need not to worry. You should take steam and blow cheeks with nose closed I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may do complete otoscopic examination and can go for audiometric testing. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory. For now do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
