What Causes Constant Pain In Left Jaw, Chin And Left Ear?

Pain in my left jaw extending from the left side of my chin upwards to my left ear. constant pain along the jaw line and sharp radiating pain in left ear. No injury and from what can be seen, the left ear is clear. Slightly swollen and extremely sore to the touch. Any ideas?

Never mind the only other time i checked symptoms i was not charged for the response.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain pain in jaw radiating to chin and ear on left side seems to be probably due to causes like:

-Wisdom tooth related infection which can cause swelling and radiating pain to the ear and chin alng with entire jaw.

-Secondly it can be due to nerve disorder known a Trigeminal Neuralgia..
Trigeminal Neuralgia is a nerve disorder that occurs due to either compression or injury to the branches of trigeminal nerve leading to electric shock like pain..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and x ray can help in diagnosis..
In case of tooth decay root canal treatment or extraction followed by antibiotics and painkillers can help...

In case if no dental issue is ruled out you can consult a Neurophysician and can get evaluated and he can advise you MRI scan for diagnosis..
In case if Trigeminal Neuralgia is confirmed then you can be advised medications like Carbamazipine, that is an anticonvulsant and it can help as it is the drug of choice for treating Neurotic pain caused by Trigeminal Neuralgia..
Other drugs that are also helpful are Gabapantin, Baclofen etc..
