What Causes Constant Gagging In Throat Along With Diarrhea And Abdominal Cramps?
My 21 year old son has lost his appetite, even gags when trying to eat foods he normally likes. He has diarrhea with cramping as soon as he eats.this has been going on for several months. Otherwise he says he has the same energy level as always. He has been lactose intolerant for most of his life and does not eat any dairy. He is away at college so I can't get him to a doctor until March when he comes home. Any ideas what might be going on?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sconstant gagging in throat along with diarrhea and abdominal cramps. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like consuming foods such as sea food and nuts , appendicitis, crohn’s disease, gastroenteritis, irritable bowel syndrome or urinary tract infection. Gagging reflux in throat can alo occur due to acid reflux , strep throat or tonsillitis . You should take plenty of fluids. I would suggest you to avoid above mentioned foods , eat light and non spicy specially at night , take light walk after every meal , eat small and frequent meals. If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy along with stool test . Doctor may prescribe laxative , anti inflammatory along with antacids . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for proper examination and treatment of throat problem . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy.
