What Causes Constant, Dull Cramps After Having Sex?

My husband and I are TTC so the first time was yesterday afternoon. All day today I ve had period cramps that won t go away. My period isn t for another 10 days. (the date of my last monthly was April 13 and I m a strict 28 day type of girl) I know you can t be having early signs of pregnancy the day after and he s not going in to far... What the heck is causing this full and dull cramp feeling?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

It is not possible to have a pregnancy significant enough to cause cramps and pain the next day after sex. The cramps and dullness might be due to pelvic muscles which go into spasm. This especially happens following a rough sexual session or having sex in difficult or unusual positions which might set off muscle cramps. Please do not worry about pregnancy and cramps being related so early. Since its 10 days before your periods so it might be possible that you can have a pregnancy but testing at home should be done at least 15 days after last sexual intercourse for more than 95 percent accurate results.
