What Causes Constant Chest Pain Associated With Burps?

Hi I have been have left chest pain with burping for 6 months. I had multiple test by GI doctor and all have been negative. Also went to my cardiologist and had multiple test as well everything was Negative as well. Do you think it is a pull muscle in chest or gas that get stuck in chest? Also if I lay on floor chest down the pain most of the time goes away. Thank you in advance Joe

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I predict more of functional pain with anxiety manifestations rather than organic pathology as reflux, GERD or hiatus. You need to follow simple basic steps and revert back within 10 days for follow up discussion
- drink more liquids
- prefer soft, easily digestible food stuffs
- avoid all spices, non veg, junk foods
- regular walk, exercises
- maintain body weight, blood sugar, cholesterol
- avoid smoking, alcohol (if consuming)
- avoid stress and anxiety
- manage sound regular sleep of 7 hours daily
- practice YOGA with deep breathing exercises
- maintenance dose of omeprazole and anxiolytic medication do add in the faster recovery without stress

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
