What Causes Constant Back Pain Radiating To The Navel?

I have been having pain in my back on the left side, but know pain is not there. the pain is on my left side all the way to my naval and then just below the naval. It is not consistent pain, but it has been there for 3 weeks or more along with nausea every day, but no vomiting. My specific gravity was 1030. My doctor states I have kidney stones. No blood in urine, just the discomfort, mostly at night. How long will it take to pass it? No CT scan was done.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have constant back pain radiating to the navel. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastritis , IBS , acid reflux , food intolerance or ulcers . Sometimes kidney infection or kidney stone can also cause such symptoms. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order stool test , endoscopy or ultrasound . Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers , proton pump inhibitor , antibiotics like ornidazole along with anti inflammatory . For now eat light and non spicy , eat small , avoid eating sea food as you mention in query and frequent meals and take antacid after every meal . Doctor may also refer you to urologist to rule out UTI ,which can also cause such symptoms .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
