What Causes Confusion And Memory Loss While Suffering From Depression?

I am 47, healthy, some history of depression, ... last couple of weeks noticed significant confusion, memory issues, and general symptoms resembling dementia. Today, experienced moments of extreme confusion and some fear at grocery store, and daughter came to help. Other symptoms today: nausea, lethargy, confusion, hot flashes ( I assume, since I’ve never experienced)
