What Causes Confusion And Dizziness?

I experienced confusion this week (driving and could not figure out where I was for about 30 seconds) and then a few days later I was laying down on the floor, sat up and got severe dizziness. I have anxiety but not severe. Otherwise I am very healthy. 58 year old female, 115 lbs.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may have developed one episode of dizziness due to
1. Hypotension
2. Acute BPPV.
3. Acute hypoglycemia.
4. Myocardial ischemia or dysfunction.
5. Posterior circulation stroke etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your physician and get examined for hemoglobin, blood sugar, ECG, echo MRI brain and MRA etc.

Please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
