What Causes Collapsed Artery?
MY HUSBANDS'S BLOOD PRESSURE RISES HIGH UPON MOVEMENT AND WORK BUT WHEN HE IS AT REST, IT IS FINE. THE DOCTOR SAYS IT MAY BE A COLLAPSED ARTERY. HE HAS TO HAVE STRESS DONE IN A FEW WEEKS. WHAT EXACTLY IS A COLLAPSED ARTERY AND WHAT CAUSES IT? THANK YOU.

A rise in blood pressure, mainly the systolic ( the upper value) can occur with exercise and it is not necessarily an abnormal finding. We notice this when we do the stress test called Tread Mill Test ( TMT). If the blood pressure does not rise to some extent during the procedure, it is considered abnormal.
