What Causes Cold Feeling In Eyelids On Eating Dairy Products?

I have always had a cold feeling in my eyelids when I eat cheese. Now it seems to be happening when I drink milk or eat yoghurt. Am I becoming dairy intolerant? I do have allergic rhinitis and suffer from frequent stuffy nose, headaches and sore throAts.

Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

Your description is telling that you have chronic allergy problem from dairy products(in your case it could be cheese). You did not mention your age. If i were your treating doctor then i would suggest you following things:

> First and most important thing is that you need to find the cause of allergy. As you are having from cheese so you need to avoid it.
> In the meanwhile take Montelukast once daily for 1 month. Research has shown that it decreases sensitivity to allergy.
> Cetrizine one at night for allergic response.
> Try to avoid dust as it is an important factor in initiating allergy.

I would also suggest you to under go allergy testing at allergy clinic as you have chronic allergy problem. It will tell that you are allergic to what specific thing. The results will help an allergist to prescribe you immunotherapy to that specific allergen and it will improve the problem.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health.
