What Causes Cold And Ear Infection Followed By Rashes On The Body?

My great grandson had a really bad cold which turned into ear infections. the dr. treated him with amociclan (sp.) the cold went away but was immediately followed by what we think was hives which covered his whole body with some on his limbs and neck. His knees are swollen and very hot and painful. he says ow with every step he takes and finally just wants to be carried. Do you have any suggestions? our PAs dont know what could be wrong.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

He can take antihistamines like Cetirizine for symptomatic relief.

It is just a viral fever and will settle by itself.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
