General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Seroquel contains quetiapine which is an atypical antipsychotics is used in the treatment of certain mental disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorder etc. Seroquel works by restoring the levels of chemical messengers like dopamine, serotonin etc., in the brain and maintain mental condition. People taking Seroquel are more prone to develop falling and get injured from falling. Such type of incidents may result from feeling unsteady, loss of balance, hypotension or low blood pressure, poor coordination, sleepiness etc.

Other side effects of Seroquel are nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, weakness, headache, indigestion, dizziness, constipation, weight gain, sore throat, stomach pain, allergic reactions etc. If this side effect person for long or bother you then you should inform your doctor first for medical attention. Don't discontinue this medication without checking and confirming with your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
