What Causes Cloud Resting Feeling In Chest With Cough?

Hi. I feel like I have a cloud resting inside the center of my chest. It is a very uncomfortable feeling and when any pressie is applied to my upper back (even a massage) I feel like the cloud is being squished and it becomes much harder to breath. It also seems to be causing a very dry cough. Not like a normal cough I get when I have a cold but rather a cough that is trying to get out but can't.

Any suggestions?
Warm regards,
Grainne

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
By your history and description, possibility of either bronchitis or lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) is more.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.
If all of the above are normal than no need to worry for major illness.
Stress and anxiety can cause similar symptoms and feeling. So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
