What Causes Clogged Ear?

Hello whomever is reading this. A couple of days ago, I woke up with my ear completely clogged to the point where hearing was impossible out of it. Therefore, I went to my primary doctor to have this checked. She said that my canal was blocked by wax and it was a simple procedure to clean it out. She sent in the nurse to wash it out with small bursts of water. However, the nurse was very violent with these bursts of water. This caused so much pain in my ear that I had to tell her that I couldn t continue. She said that the canal was clear and that I should ve been able to hear, but I could not. Now it feels different than before though. It still feels clogged, but I can faintly hear through it. Could water be trapped inside? If so how could I deal with that? This is driving me insane.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of clogged ear, no hearing, was advise by the Primary Care to get the ear cleaned of the wax. Syringing done that increased pain and you had to stop.
If you are hard of hearing in spite of the cleaned wax the commonest reason is the fluid accumulation in the middle ear that is causing all the problems of pain and reduced hearing.
Please get referred to the ENT and till you get an appointment your Primary will give you a course of an antibiotic, anti-histamine and anti-inflammatory medicines.
Continue all these till you get to see an ENT.
