What Causes Clogged Ear With Yellow Brown Stuff?

I went diving today and both ears were stuffed afterwards. My left ear cleared but my right stayed stuffed. I used a q-tip to remove a lot of yellow-brown stuff. I flushed it with warm water several times but it still is clogged. I remember a short tinnitia a few times in the past for just a few seconds then went away. I don't know if that's related.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems like you have got a Swimmer's ear as you have started experiencing the symptoms after diving and the clogged feeling of ears and discharge of yellow-brown stuff seems to be pus..
The clogged feeling also seems to be due to accumulation of infectious fluid inside the ear behind the ear drum..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and Otoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..

In case of infection the physician can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Advil, steroids, antibiotic ear drops like Gentamycin and steroid ear drops, and decongestant nasal sprays like Xylometazoline..
At times manual drainage of the pus from ears can also e done for faster resolution of infection..
You should also limit water exposure to ear, avid putting q-tip again and again and also do not pop the ears as it can injure the ear drum..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
