Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Right shoulder has a clicking sound when I move it and it feels funny or sometimes hurts when the click occurs - like the joint has a ridge in the ball/socket - how can I treat this? I am 70 years old and in general good health except for higher blood pressure (being treated with meds) and atrial fib once in awhile - about once every week or two. Sound and feeling are noticeable when wiping down the table in a circular motion. no pain when arm is down at my side.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Clicking sound in the shoulder can be due to degenerative changes in the shoulder joint loosening of some body in the joint. The features mentioned by you are that of frozen shoulder wherein there is restricted movement of shoulder joint. There is nothing much to worry. The condition requires rest, hot fomentation and physiotherapy. I suggest you to consult your orthopedician for further work up.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
