What Causes Clear Liquid Drainage From The Throat?

I was eating lunch and got food stuck in throat and tried to clear for 15 minutes but started having clear fluid coming up throat to mouth and I spit out into toilet. Can't drink easily and now 1 hour late still have the fluid coming ken.millleup every few minutes

Hi Dear,

As per your query you have symptoms of clear liquid drainage from the throat which seems to be due to pharyngitis and inflammation in that area. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid cold carbonated beverages. For now take steam thrice a day and do betadine gargles. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test along with blood tests and CT scan for sinusitis. Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial like amoxicillin along with decongestants. Take proper rest and avoid spicy food.
