What Causes Clear Blood Discharge When On Implanon?

Hi I ve been on the implanon for a month now. I m 19 years old and had unprotected sex with my husband. Everytime I wipe after wards there is a clear discharge with blood streaks. Does it mean I m pregnant? I recently had a 4th degree tear during birth and have to go back for a pap smear in 6 months again. What could it mean?

Hi,

Implanon is a progesteron only and it has a known side effect of irregular bleeding / early or late menstruation. Hence, the bleeding you see intermittently is a side effect. The hormone is also possibly can make changes in cervical cells to exclude that you have been advised pap smear after 6 months. It is not related to the 4th degree year you had in past.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
