Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just finished a bout with severe vomiting and watery diarrhea that lasted about 14 to 16 hours. No signs of blood. I had no fever, in fact my temperature was a couple degrees low. I hadn t eaten out or any strange or risky foods. This has happened to me before and seems to be happening more often. Any ideas?
You have not mentioned, whether you have now recovered or not? Because by repeated diarrhea and vomiting dehydration can occur. To maintain hydration with lots of water. ORS like electrolyte powder with water should be taken to maintain electrolyte balance. Take semisolid diet more. It can be viral gastroenteritis. Stool routine micro examination and an occult blood test is done if there is no improvement. If your problem is frequent as mentioned, then consult a gastroenterologist for examination and endoscopy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
