What Causes Chronic Pain In The Buttocks Radiating To The Legs?

I think I may have Piriformis. I know I have sciatica and many other back issues, but never before have I had such a large amount of pain running down my right leg, from my buttocks to my feet. The top of my leg has a very intense gripping sensation that makes it almost unbearable to put any weight on. I m seeing an orthopaedic doctor and hope I will get some answers. I would like to suggest the piriformis muscle problem to him

In all probability you are having marked Sciatica pain. You must get an MRI of the lumbar spine done to see for any lumbar disc prolapse and spinal cord compression. If you do have this , you would have to undergo a minimal access surgery to remove the prolapsed lumbar disc and relieve the cord compression.
