I broke my collarbone over 30 yrs ago. It broke and split to the end. At the time they talked about screwing the split piece back ttogether. Without insurance I chose not to have it done. I ve experience chronic pain throughout my neck and shoulder. Ive been going to a pain management specialist for the last 15 yrs. It seems to just be getting worse. All of the muscles just seem so tight, a huge knot. I m having some xrays of it taken next week. I just wander would an mri show if it was causing problems with all the muscles and tendons?I m 52 a welder that is still working somehow.

Hello,

For pain, you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally.

Heating pads also help.

In case of not getting relief, you may require an X-ray neck with a shoulder after orthopedician consultation.

Restrict your movements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
