General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hip pain can be due to osteoarthritis, which is a wear and tear condition of the joints and is worse with age.
Also, muscle strain in the area may cause such pain.
You will need a careful examination and possibly hip x-rays to better determine the diagnosis and further management.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
