What Causes Chronic Dizziness Which Subsides Only While Lying Down?

Hello, I’ve been feeling faint all day everyday since late March. I’ve seen several specialists and have had countless tests. Everything has been normal and no one can give me any answers. I could barely drive and I’m always in bed because that’s the only time I have any relief is when I’m laying down. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dizziness due to many causes you need to get treatment from cardiologist/ENT specialist/neurophysician/physician to know the exact cause for your symptoms. Most possible causes are BPPV/postural hypotension or stroke or vestibular neurinitis or labyrinthitis or cardiac infraction or vasovagal syncope etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet vartin 16 mg thrice a day for five days. If Symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
