What Causes Chronic Diarrhoea, Weight Loss And Rectal Bleeding?

my sister is 52 and a very active trail marathon runner. She has had constant diarrhea for the last 9 - 10 days. At first she said it felt like her body was crashing and she thought it was the flu. She did have a fever that first day but hasn t since. However the diarrhea has continued and has lost 7 pounds in the last week. She now has two unexplained bruises that appeared on her butt and her arm. Yesterday she told me she has had some rectal bleeding.

I really appreciate your concern, I had gone through the history given here and I could say that the given symptoms of your sister could be due to abdomen infection.
If I would be doctor of this case then I would try to treat this case with Tab Metronidazole 400 mg twice in day for five days, wait for some days and if the symptoms persist then stool need to be sent for culture sensitivity test.
