What Causes Chronic Diarrhea After An Appendectomy?
my friend had an emergency appendectomy a month ago and is still having chronic yellow diarrhea. she is 70 years old and lost 20 lbs since surgery and is bone thin. has had test for c diff 2 weeks ago , and it was negative...but is still concerned for recurring infection or bowel obstruction causing so much diarrhea. she has tried to eat different things, but they all have the same result..running to the bathroom. any advice??

repeat microbiological stool analysis 2x. if negative check thyreoid gland,colonoscopy to exclude obstruction. but it is probably caused by adhesions....so in the end laparoscopic adhesiolysis.
