Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are few causes of chronic cough:
1- allergy which causes you to have cough and sneezing as well
2- if cough is worse after food can be caused by acid reflux from the stomach
3- asthma

Other more rare causes of cough are smoking (if you smoke or someone close to you smokes), tuberculosis (a lung infection), medications (some hypertension medications), chemicals and irritants (if you are in contact with) etc.

I would say that it is good for you to have omeprazole 20 mg twice a day and Cetirizine 10 mg at night for 7-10 days. These would take care of reflux and allergy. If no improvement with these you will need to see your doctor to check your lungs and have a chest x-ray.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
