What Causes Chronic Cough And Vomiting During Pregnancy?

During 9th month pregnancy me facing lot of coughing in night sleep...my dr given cough syrup n told to take thrice time to be taken in a day..but stil my cough not stopped..night time vomiting also happening due to this cough...throught is not clear in night times due to this cough...pl tel the remedy for this

Hi,

Cough is not directly related to pregnancy and is not a cause for it. Since there are restrictions for taking medicines in pregnancy, I would advise you to get your sputum culture done and based on the report, you can take antibiotics like Amoxycillin under the guidance and advice of your treating doctor, if there is a bacterial infection. Till the report of your cough comes, you can continue taking a cough expectorant and steam inhalation.
