Hello,

It is due to muscle strain from coughing which is from infection and has also effected throat. All it needs to take antibiotics for one week and anti-cough medications.

As infection subsides you will return to normal health and can take one to two weeks. You can report to emergency room for clinical examination and accordingly your concerns will be addressed.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar, Dentist
