Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Cough Along With Severe Vomiting?
chronic cough that oftentimes causes me to throw up or spit up lots of mucus it s all the time. I am sitting here doing nothing and I can feel the heartburn and suddenly I will feel something touching something in my throat then I will start coughing, eventually throwing up or at temperature changes. If it is hot, I will start coughing violently until I get used to the temperature or if it is too cold, I will start coughing until I get used to the temperature.
I would suggest you to start with course of antibiotics (Amoxicillin or Penicillin) at least for 5 days along with antacid and anti-inflammatory medications. You should do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. Your symptoms will resolve in 1 week.
If symptoms keep on persisting, then you should consult ENT specialist once and take proper treatment. You should also get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests and start treatment accordingly. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
