What Causes Chronic Cough Along With Nasal Bleeding?

I have been sick for about three weeks now. First I had a presist bad sore throat with a slight cough then I had a bad cough that made my chest and stomach sore. Now tonight I coughed so hard my nose started bleeding. I have held off for this long without going to a doctor. But I cant have spontanis nose bleeds at work. So my question is will my nose bleed again?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chronic cough along with nasal bleeding which could be allergic reaction , injury to the nose, repeated sneezing , upper respiratory infection and medicine like blood thinners. Cough and nasal bleeding can also occur due to sinusitis and post nasal drip. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests as well to check exact level of infection. You need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. Doctor may also order CT scan or nasal endoscopy .You should get X-ray chest done as well to find out exact level of infection. You should avoid intake of cold carbonated liquids. avoid diet rich in fried and oily food. Take soft and bland diet. Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C. You should take cough expectorants as well. You should use mist humidifiers in room.
