What Causes Chronic Constipation Despite Using Milk Of Magnesium?

I could not use the bathroom #2. I haven t been drinking much water at all so have been drinking lots of water. Used some milk of magnesium to clean myself out, still with lots of water. Have been eating bran and salads and only have a small amount coming out #2. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
You should include fiber in your diet. Food sources of fibers are:
a.     Legumes – split peas, lentils, black beans, lima beans, and baked beans
b.     Vegetables – artichoke, green peas, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts
c.     Whole grains – barley, bran flakes, oatmeal, and brown rice
d.     Fruits – raspberries, pears, and apples
Advice
1.     Syrup Duphalac 2 teaspoonful per oral at bed time
2.     Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily
3.     Avoid straining while defecating
4.     Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day
Thanks
