Hello, Thanks for posting in HCM. The doctors are right. Thyroid surgery has nothing to do with burping. Burping is something related to your stomach and structures around. Gall stones can sometime cause dyspepsia which results in burping. Try eating food slowly as fast eating causes lots of air to be swallowed which causes burping. Also cut down on cola drinks and artifical sweetners as they also cause excessive burping. Do not lie down immediately after you have food. You can consult a gastroenterologist and get a endoscopy to actually search for some other reason for chronic burping if the problem still persists after following above given advice.
