What Causes Chronic Build Up Of Fluid At The Back Of The Throat?

Hi, I recently underwent an endoscopy for a chronic throat clearing/fluid at back of throat. The results showed gastritis with no esophagitis with normal mucosa. Also had a ENT check for postnasal drip which was negative. However on PCP appointment the Dr looked in my throat and said I do have postnasal drip. I do not experience any heartburn or stomach pain. What would you consider the fluid to be, acid from stomach or mucous buildup.

I think its mucous build up. Moreover post nasal drip is a condition not a disease. So only you can tell you are having it. Gastritis and post nasal drip are also correlated in many patients ( though no study has been conducted yet).
