What Causes Chronic Back Pain, Swollen Glands In The Neck And Sore Throat?

I have some symptoms that kind of worry me and I was looking for some opinions. I have chronic back pain as well as other joints that ache pretty much all the time. I have swollen glands in my neck for over 2 weeks and am on a second round of antibiotics. also a swollen gland under my right arm pit which is sore a lot of the time. I do not have a sore throat or a runny nose. I am constantly tired.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic back pain, swollen glands in the neck and sore throat which is due to bacterial infection leading to strep throat. Most probably the infection is viral which is causing body pain. I would suggest you to take steam inhalation on daily basis and avoid cold carbonated beverages. Avoid sharp and spicy food and take diphenhydramine and dextromethorphan for 4-5 days. If condition doesn't get better then consult ENT specialist for proper examination and treatment. Go for throat swab test and blood test and start with proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications. Doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy .Take soft foods to avoid irritation to the throat. Throat lozenges one every 4 hours is helpful. Drink lukewarm water throughout the day as it can provide relief.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
