What Causes Choking Sensation In Throat After Swallowing A Gum?

I swallowed a piece of gum earlier in the morning tried drinking water and dry foods thinking it ll go down its late night now and feel like its still in my lower throat i went to the er they didnt do anything and said my breathing was fine there was no procedure needed no scopes nothing that its just from the impact of me swallowing it mind u it was chewed gum i still feel it is that normal or am i being paranoid i at dinner and i was fine i vomited and im fine i just dont know why i still feel like a thick feeling is in my throat still
