General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The swallowing difficulty of your father seem to be relate to an acid reflux disease.
I suggest to use an PPI medication to lower the acidity in the stomach such as Prilosec.
I also suggest using antacids such as Maalox three times a day.
I recommend to avoid food that can trigger the symptoms such as spicy food.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
