What Causes Chills Along With Muscle Cramps In The Calves?

Last night I experienced violent shivering all over my body. Muscle cramps especially in my calves and the muscles in the front of my lower leg. When I checked for a temperature, it was 96 degrees. I had to use a heating pad and heavy blankets to get the shivering under control. Then I began to sweat profusely. I run on a treadmill every evening and sometimes I ve experienced leg cramps at night, but I ve never experienced the shivering before.
