What Causes Chest Pain, shortness Of Breath And Palpitations?

I have been experiencing intermittent PACs, PVCs, short atrial runs, shortness of breath, and chest pain. I have had a 30 day event monitor, a cardiac echo, a bubble study, EKG, and a treadmill stress test, which showed nothing significant. I have systematic sarcoidosis, which has also presented neurologically. Thyroid function is normal, calcium is normal, potassium is normal, adrenal function is normal, and I m not on any meds. Low bp and normal blood sugar. Any thoughts as to what could be explored next? Could the neuro sarc interfere with conduction from time to time? I am 41, F, 5 6 , 200lbs

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I feel that you are suffering from cardiac sarcoidosis. Cardiac sarcoidosis is commonly associated with rhythm disturbances, like PAC, PVC and atrial and ventricular runs.

Due to above rhythm disorders, the cardiac functions are also altered and as a result, you're feeling shortness of breath and chest pain.

There are medical treatment available for the same, like groups of drugs called beta blockers and other anti- arrhythmics.

I suggest you consult an electrophysiologist, who would be dealing with these conditions and discuss with him regarding medical management, Need for ICD and also immuno-supproessive drugs.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
