What Causes Chest Pains With Coughing And Sternum Soreness?

i am getting sharp chest pains when i go from laying down to sitting up. Also, when i cough and laugh hard. If I press on my sternum hard it feels sore. I feel like I went swimming for hours, like im water logged. When i deep breathe i have to cough, then the sharp pain comes. Any answers are appreciated

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. You have probably exercised on your chest muscles or had a severe bout of cough.
2. If you still have coughing with out sputum production, try salt water gargling and lozenges to soothe throat. If still not reduced, you will require cough suppressants like codeine sulphate.
3. If its due to exercise, you can take muscle relaxants, it will reduce. Rest should help.
