What Causes Chest Pain While Coughing?

i have a pain the is becoming increasingly worse in the last day, it feel like a pulled muscle ( i m very active) however it is tender to the touch also if I cough it hurt. Its located under my lower rib cage and continues just below.. if I squeeze my side I can fill the tissue is tighter has a know,, maybe I have a knot in my oblique? but why is it getting worse

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
By your history and description, in my opinion you are mostly having musculoskeletal pain.
But we need to rule out pneumonia as it can cause pleurisy (inflammation of pleura) and chest pain on coughing.
So get done chest x ray first.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for pneumonia.
You are having chest pain due to excessive coughing.
So start antihistamines for suppression of cough.
Start painkiller and muscle relaxant.
Apply warm water pad on affected site.
Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
