What Causes Chest Pain While Breathing?

Hi, I have a question. I frequently (around 2-4 times a month) experience pain when I inhale. It s always a sharp pain, and it can last anywhere from just one breath to several straight minutes. The pain is always somewhere in my upper chest, back, or side, and it doesn t matter what my diet or exercise or even the position I m in when it happens. It s been happening for as long as I can remember, and it happens to my mother and sister as well, so I always assumed it was normal until I told my friend and he got concerned and said he had never heard of that happening to someone before and that I should ask a doctor about it. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thank you very much for taking the time to answer this.

muscle pain occurs very frequently. sharp localized pain in the chest which vanishes after sometime occurs in muscle pain of the chest. there is no need to worry about it. it usually goes away on its own. if u have history of smoking or heart disease in your family then ecg should be done to see any ischemic changes.
