Cannot say in his particular case. there are many issues that can be quite serious.
Methamphetamine, but moreso impurities or other drugs put into it, can be quite irritating to the lungs (the amphetamine and related drugs, ironically are useful in opening up lungs in asthma BUT the amounts are SMALL and there are no impurities). In addition, stimulants, even the asthma inhalers, are well known to cause heart problems and then the lack of heart function causes fluid to build up in the lungs. bad. Lack of blood to the lungs or heart can also feel like chest pain and shortness of breath.

cannot say which if any of these are occurring in someone without being there but many are quite serious and even potentially fatal without being seen and treated.
