What Causes Chest Pain And Cough While Recovering From Peptic Ulcer?

Dr. I have peptic ulcer since last year July and now it s reducing, only for me to eat later yesterday and I ate been, I started coughing from the first spoon and thought it s cool, then I started feeling chest pain. I left the food and ate cereal, then some hours again the chest pains continue, I m coughing and can t sleep, I feel weakness at the left part of my body. I feel this weakness anytime I close my eyes to sleep and then I m back awake again. Kindly assist me

Hi,

When ulcer enters in the respiratory tract after it's regurgitated from the stomach to throat... it causes bronchial irritation, bronchitis/a cough/chest pain.

Apart from eating non-irritant food small serving... more frequently... controlled production of extra acid (which is the basic cause of all problems) should be done by following prescription given by a gastroenterologist (containing... medicines like omeprazole).

Please consult a gastroenterologist for suitable advise for you.
